Fort Drum Dental Health Activity welcomes new commander

FORT DRUM, New York — The Fort Drum Dental Health Activity welcomed its new commander during a change of command ceremony on Fort Drum, New York, July 18, 2024.

Brig. Gen. Lance Raney, Director of Defense Health Network East, speaks with Mr. Scott Ruff, Group Practice Manager, in the Physical Therapy Clinic during a visit to Fort Drum Medical Department Activity. DHN East director visits “North Country”

Fort Belvoir, Va. — U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Lance Raney, director for Defense Health Network East, visited local commands and community health care leaders at Fort Drum, New York, Feb. 13-14. Raney, who is also the Medical Readiness Command East Director, met Army Medical Department Fort Drum leaders and members to observe how they support the military medical mission.

Fort Drum Dental Activity celebrates Red Cross dental assistant graduates

FORT DRUM, New York — The Fort Drum Dental Health Activity celebrated the accomplishments and hard work of seven dental assistant students during a graduation ceremony at the Sportsman Lounge on Fort Drum, New York, April 6, 2023.

Expanding Compassionate Care for Sexual Assault Survivors: Fort Drum sexual assault healthcare specialist provides training in forensic examinations to Navy doctor

FORT DRUM, N.Y. — The U.S. Army Medical Department Activity, Fort Drum, New York, hosted a U.S. Navy doctor during a Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examiner (SAMFE) course. Traditionally held in San Antonio, the two-week course consisted of one week of online didactic training and three days of hands-on clinical training taught by the Fort Drum Sexual Assault Medical Management Office program manager.

Thomas Vincent, an infantry officer with 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), stands in front of his company headquarters on Fort Drum, N.Y. A long road to recovery: 10th Mountain Soldier returns to duty nearly a year after catastrophic car accident

FORT DRUM, New York — Perseverance is defined as the ability to keep doing something despite obstacles or delay in achieving success. A real-world example is that of 1st Lt. Thomas Vincent, who spent nearly an entire year recovering after a severe car accident in November 2019 left him with multiple injuries.
