Occupational Therapy
The Fort Drum Occupational Therapy clinic offers rehabilitative services to beneficiaries with limitations in activities of daily living using purposeful activity (occupations) and therapeutic interventions. The Occupational Therapy clinic provides evaluation and comprehensive treatment programs designed to improve, sustain, or restore maximal functional independence in persons with physical, medical, or psychosocial needs.
Services Offered
Individualized evidence-based evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of neuromusculoskeletal conditions relating to the upper extremityManual Therapy: joint mobilizations and soft tissue mobilizations
- Post-Operative rehabilitation for all Orthopedic surgical procedures relating to the upper extremity
- Therapeutic interventions including mirror therapy, exercise to improve joint ROM, stability, and strength, proprioception, postural education, and ADL/IADL training and optimization
- Trigger Point Dry Needling
- Custom Splinting
- All routine therapy modalities (cyrotherapy, TENS, ultrasound, fluidotherapy, iontophoresis, moist heat packs, etc.)
Appointments
- After being evaluated, your primary care provider will create a referral for you to be seen by an Occupational Therapist.
- You will be contacted by our office to schedule an initial evaluation with one of our evaluating Occupational Therapists at the facility.
