Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Fredrick Gibbons

Command Sgt. Maj. Fredrick Gibbons enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2002. He attended Basic Training at Fort Benning, Ga., and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, where he was awarded military occupational specialty 68J, Medical Logistics Specialist, in March 2002. 

His previous duty assignments include the 10th Combat Support Hospital, Fort Carson, Colo., and Camp New York, Kuwait, as a Medical Supply Specialist; Camp Shelby, Miss., as the Troop Medical Clinic Supply Noncommissioned Officer-in-Charge; Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Ga., as the Operations Cell NCOIC; Walter Reed Army Medical Center, NCOIC of the Logistics Support Branch, Property and Materiel Management Divisions. Additionally, he performed duties as the Brigade Logistics Officer-in-Charge and deployed in support of three Humanitarian Operations to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Benning, Ga.; and has performed as the Brigade Operations NCOIC of Schools and Training, and NCOIC, Logistics Division. He also served as the Equal Opportunity Advisor at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Texas, and was the first U.S. Army Medical Command Equal Opportunity Advisor in history to win EOA of the cycle for two consecutive years; was Operations NCOIC and Executive Officer for the 6th Medical Logistics Management Center; NCOIC, Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics/G-4, United States Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, and USAMRMC Region Consultant for MOS Medical Logistics Specialist/68J and Biomedical Equipment Specialist/68A; First Sergeant, Company A, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center; NCOIC, G-4, Regional Health Command-Atlantic; Chief Medical Noncommissioned Officer, Department of Clinical Specialties; and Medical Center of Excellence Office of the Commandant Sergeant Major.

Maj. Gibbons is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 71; he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a master’s degree in health administration, with a focus in Hospital Care Operations.

His military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (5 Oak Leaf Clusters); Army Commendation Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster); Army Achievement Medal (4 Oak Leaf Clusters); Army Good Conduct Medal (3 Bronze Knots); National Defense Service Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal; Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5); the Army Service Ribbon; Army Superior Unit Award; and the Air Assault Badge. Command Sgt. Maj. Gibbons has been identified as a Demonstrated Master Logistician and has been inducted into the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club and the Order of Military Medical Merit, United States Army Medical Department Regiment.
